DESCRIPTION CITY

Nowadays is very common to hear about the awful that the capital of Colombia could be because of its large population. However there are many beautiful places to visit, restaurants, hotels, parks and museums etc. besides a lot of activities or events that occur throughout the year makes Bogota more interesting. In fact I’m sure if you taste our food you will be here soon. So let’s start with those activities.

One of the most important events in this city is “rock al parque”. This event consists about rock live music at the park and it will be in august for 3 days.  Others similar events are   “downtown festival, summer festival, jazz al parque, hip hop al parque etc.” on the contrary if you prefer quite activities or educational there are other alternatives for example: “book’s fair”. In this you can find the most famous books around the world, different artist and foreign people. Those activities that I just mentioned are terrific. But now let’s see the place where you will be hosted.

As you know Bogota is the biggest city in Colombia and the capital too. For that reason it has the most important international and domestics hotels. For example: “Hotel 101 Park House Suites” or “the book hotel” with a normal design but with an interesting book’s boutique. Nevertheless you must consider about the prices because both are too expensive. On the other hang   domestic hotels could be expensive but not too much. So the think is that you have to be careful before you taking a decision.

Another interesting place that you should think over it’s about restaurants. In Bogota there are many restaurants everywhere. So it depends on you what you really want. For instance if you want eat Colombian dishes, you can go downtown or maybe wherever mall in the city. But if you want to eat internationals food so you can go internationals downtown close to national museum. However it’s necessary to emphasize that Colombian food is considered like the most delicious food in the world.

Finally it’s time for knowing the most recognized places for our tourism. The first place is “Monserrate”. It’s a church on a mountain where you can see the entire city. The second popular place is   “ Zipaquira Salt Cathedral” this cathedral is not exactly in Bogota but is near. Next there are many museumslike “Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center, Botero museum, Gold Museum and Art Museum of the Bank of the Republic”.As a conclusion Bogota is a cosmopolitan city where you can go many things in the same city.

THINGS TO DO IN BOGOTÁ

On weekends, on the outer platform of the Maloka building, there is a fountains and lights show that begins at 6:40 p.m. 

Visit to the Botanical Garden

Twenty hectares of green space in the west of the city. It is a park surrounded by tropical plants, a lake with ducks, native forests and several passable roads. It is ideal for children who are learning to walk or for those who want to explore and run.

On weekends there is cultural and academic programming for children and adults, such as concerts, puppet plays, yoga practices, exhibitions and art workshops

also, non-formal education courses related to the appreciation, care and knowledge of nature, ranging from nature photography and landscape to garden design, among others. Permanently there are guided tours.

Visit to the Laguna de Guatavita

One of the sacred lagoons of the Musica and, for them, the navel of the world and the door of entry and exit of the gods. I was possibly the scene of the ritual of the legend of El Dorado, which not only attracted the conquerors, but also the gold prospectors.  

The lagoon has been the object of numerous dives in different historical epochs, all with the purpose of rescuing the supposed treasures that hide under its waters. The Monumental northern gap that presents the crater that contains it corresponds precisely to an attempt to drain it.

The fauna is very scarce, due to the constant presence of visitors. but you can find foxes, mice and morays of moor. Within the flora of the place we find frailejones, flytraps, wild curubos among others. There is no infrastructure or some type of hotel that allows lodging. To sleep in the place, you must camp.

Visit to Jaime Duque Park

An amusement park that, in addition to mechanical attractions, a giant map of Colombia, a dinosaur garden and a zoo, has thematic tours based on 'The Divine Comedy' and 'Arabian Nights'.
